A Team Behind the Talent: How a BELAY Client Success Consultant Helped One CEO Break the Bottleneck
For Luke Jordan, CEO of Electro Acoustics, asking for help wasn’t the hard part. Accepting it was.
“People were telling me, ‘You're doing too much.’ I said, ‘I agree. Who else is here to do it, though?’”
As 2023 came to a close, the pressure was mounting. Luke wasn’t just leading the company — he was the company.
“2024 was the hardest year of my life. And it started at the end of ’23,” he shared, “I was the owner, CEO, sales manager, salesman, project manager, and operations manager at the same time.”
The weight of those responsibilities took a toll.
“Everyone knew I was doing my best. They saw the emails at 5 a.m. and then I’d work all day and get the kids to bed. Then they’d see the emails from 7 p.m. to midnight.”
“People gave me a lot of slack, but I was missing things. I was not doing things on the deadline that I said I would do them. I was unresponsive. And I realized that I had a problem and I needed help.”
The “Allie Effect”
That realization led Luke to BELAY, specifically to Allie, his Client Success Consultant. At BELAY, a Client Success Consultant (CSC) ensures the success of each client and BELAY Assistant by supporting the relationship through onboarding and beyond.
“So I got in touch with BELAY and met Allie, who is one of my favorite people,” Luke said. “And Allie will tell you—I was very resistant to getting help. I just did not want to admit that I needed help. And I really had a hard time accepting it and letting go.”
But Allie didn’t shy away. She leaned in with insight, empathy, and encouragement.
“Allie is unbelievably intuitive,” Luke said. “She is insightful. She asks good questions. She remembers everything I've ever told her.”
“It made it really easy for me to kind of open up about who I am, where I'm at, what my dream for the future looks like,” he added.
And when Luke hesitated to delegate, Allie gently challenged him.
“She said, ‘You called us. We are here to help. We work for you. Whatever you are willing to delegate or keep, that's your decision. But we are here to help you. You've got to let us help you.’”
From Drowning in Details to Leading with Confidence
“I think I had like 1,500 unread emails before BELAY. I didn't have any kind of filing system,” Luke shared. “It was really hard to keep up with who was asking for what, what deadlines I had, and when I was going to have time to actually work.”
His first BELAY Executive Assistant got him out of the weeds: taming the inbox chaos, creating a filing system, and bringing immediate structure to his day.
“She started getting my calendar in order,” Luke said. “She color-coded everything because I'm wearing so many different hats for the company. Now I can look at my calendar and know: I’m the CEO right now. I’m the operations manager. I’m the service manager.”
As Luke’s needs shifted, Allie stepped in once again. With insight and care, she helped him transition smoothly and matched him with Cathy — an Executive Assistant who became a true strategic partner.
“Cathy is amazing, and she brought such balance to my life. She is highly relational — and I’m such a people person – and still so organized,” Luke said. “It became just an unbelievable partnership.”
Cathy brought clarity and confidence to Luke’s daily leadership, which allowed Luke to shift from surviving the day-to-day to leading with intention through healthier systems.
“I’ve learned to protect my time and block recurring windows for deep work and rest,” Luke shared. “That’s helped me take better care of myself — and my team.”
Becoming the Leader His Team Needed
With the right support in place, Luke began showing up differently.
“I had time to work on the projects and deliverables I had promised,” he said. “So I did what I said I would do when I said I would do it.”
And that consistency built trust.
“It allowed me to be a trustworthy person again because I was getting things done.”
With Allie guiding the process and Cathy supporting the execution, BELAY became more than a staffing solution. It became a leadership strategy.
“BELAY enabled me to be the executive I wanted to be,” Luke said. “It challenged me to let go of what others could do and gave me the freedom to do what only I could do.”
“It really gave me tools and a mindset to start working on my dreams,” he added. “Having a partner to challenge me, cheer me on, and remove roadblocks allowed me to do that.”
The BELAY Difference
Luke’s story is proof that support only works when it fits.
That’s why BELAY’s Client Success Consultants do more than match résumés. They match people. They walk with you through transitions, challenges, and leadership growth — ensuring your Executive Assistant continues to meet your needs as they evolve.
