Client Success Story:
Jay Roundy

Jay Roundy is a leading transformational performance expert in sports and business and the co-owner and COO of P2 Performance Plus, a company focused on helping its clients overcome barriers by developing and training their mental strength.

High performance in sports, business or life in general demands attention to multiple elements; however, we often lack one crucial component. Developing and training your mental strength is a key driver in successfully pursuing and attaining high performance.

P2 Performance Plus exists to transform lives for purpose, commitment and leadership.

The Challenge

“I had been intermittently looking at the idea of somebody virtually helping me,” Jay remembers. “My son and I own the business together, but he's involved in medical device sales and doesn't have as much time as I do to commit.

“I really needed some help, and so I was looking around and I was looking for this and didn't find it.”

When he read a book by Michael Hyatt and learned about the opportunities a BELAY Virtual Assistant could offer him, he knew it was time to try it out.

“After having many months of playing around with the idea, read that book and said, ‘Okay, I'm going to give this a shot,’ and I called to find out about it,” Jay adds. “I had first the discovery call, and I said, ‘Well, I'm ready to go.’”

Enter BELAY Virtual Assistant Maggie James.

The Solution

Jay credits Maggie’s demeanor, approach and personality to their success.

“She's just great,” Jay says. “In the course of my career, I had a real-life executive assistant for about 35 of the 40-plus years, but they were always right outside my door. I had one [assistant] for 23 years, and she knew what I needed before I needed it. And Maggie reminds me of [her].

“Maggie has a background in nutrition and wellness. She's incredibly organized, a really good thinker [with] good decision-making skills. She's not afraid to speak up and offer a suggestion. She has now become the project manager of a healthcare-related research project.
“The relief [I’ve experienced] has just grown. She’s that good. I couldn’t be happier.”

In her daily tasks, Maggie is taking notes during meetings, managing a healthcare-related research project and assisting Jay with the launch of a new program.

“She's an extension of me,” Jay says. “I don't know how else to say it. It's like we're on the same page all the time.

“I had my doubts about not being able to walk out my door down the hall because I did that for so many years in my head. Intellectually I knew it could work, but it has been so smooth.

“I know she has another client, two companies that she works with, and that has not been a problem. 99% of the time she sees everything and responds before I've even finished — almost before I hit send.”

The Result

“I didn't gain a secretarial assistant sitting outside my door; I gained a business partner,” Jay says. “I value that so much.

“I have a reliable, trusted resource that when a thought occurs to me on my own, if I at least make a note about it, I have a place to send that note [or] that request to. And not even give it another thought until she comes back and says, ‘Here's what you asked for. Is it what you were looking for?’

“She's a trusted resource. And I didn't expect that. I didn't think it would get to that. I thought it would be more like, in the traditional sense, a secretary doing secretarial stuff for me. She's much more than an executive assistant or secretary.
“I didn't expect it to be this easy and this good.”
